Happy Monday to you, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I spent most of my weekend elbow-deep in cookie dough. Each year it begins right after Halloween, and ends a week or so before Christmas. I am pleased to say that I am right on schedule! So what do I do with all these cookies? All but the enormous tray we have on the table for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are given away. A lot of work? You bet, but it is one of my favorite holiday traditions.
Okay you Heart Diagrammers, I promised you one question; so here it is…”How much space did the section with your name on it, take up?” If your results are like mine were, you are asking, “My name???” I am not sure why I ever did this little exercise to begin with. I was just doodling on a piece of paper as I so often do, and it ended up being a heart “divided-up” with the things I most love. My name never appeared there. Interesting isn’t it? Definitely something to spend some serious thinking time on. As I said in last Wednesday’s post, you do not need to discuss your results here at The Creative Exchange. Of course if you choose to do so, you are most welcome.
Pairing has ended for Sharing My Holiday, and I want to thank everyone who participated. I hope you enjoy receiving that special photograph from your sharemate!
I am very excited this week to be hosting a giveaway for Kat from Kat Eye Studio. Kat contacted me several weeks ago about hosting a giveaway for not one, but TWO spots in her upcoming Find Your Eye: Starting the Journey, course. The course runs for 2 weeks, and from one who has taken it, I can tell you that as is the case with all Kat does, it is fantastic!! If you would like, you can read all about it here. So, what do you need to do? Just leave a comment here saying that you would like a chance to win one of the spots. You do not need to link up at The Creative Exchange, and you do not need to be a follower. On Friday evening (about 7:00 pm EST, give or take), with the help of Random.org, the winners will be chosen and I will post the names here.
Over the next 2+ weeks, I will be writing and giving final exams, so if I am slow in visiting, please know that this is why. Once this is behind me, I have almost a whole month off!! So excited.

Lisa, I love your tradition of baking cookies for the holidays... since we can't taste, could we at least have a photo? Good luck with the end of the term grading!
p.s. I didn't put my name in my heart diagram either.
Ok, so I have to say that I would be totally THRILLED TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE SPOTS IN KATS CLASS. Have heard great things about it and would love the chance to enhance my skills in her awesome class. Definitely want my name entered in to the running for it. I also never put my own name on the list, very interesting to think about! Thanks for sharing this Lisa! And glad that your had fun making cookies. Isn't it fun!
I didn't include my name in my heart because I presume I AM the heart ;-) I think I commented about this in your last post!
I love cookies but I just buy candies and cookies because the kids in the neighborhood always pass by our house every Christmas for it! ;-)
Woof Lisa!
I am visiting you and Kitty this holiday just to taste your yum cookies!

When you see a golden fur somewhere on the table that's my woofy doggy spirit!
Love your B&W shot.
Hey I totally forgot about my heart pie...what does that say!!
I would love to have a spot on Kat's class.
Starting the Journey - please count me in; I'd love to start a new Journey with Kat and see where it can take me with my photography. Sounds like a class and a half!
Precious Garland, I like this capture in B & W, conveys a pleasant light. Greetings.
I thought it was frost at first. I did not see the whole picture. :) I like the way it shows both the lamps and the background that is not entirely black. :)
Love your Christmas lights shots. The b/wmakes the lights more bright somehow.
You are right I never put my name on the heart either. Mmmm.
I would love to be in the draw for the journey with Kat. Always keen to learn more.
Have a good week, hope not to stressful for you!
Oh..if only I'd be so lucky as to be a chosen winner!! And - good luck with your exams!!!
Beautiful Christmas light shot!
In my experience, hearts stretch quite a bit, so make sure you do that with your own to make room for yourself :) have a happy week!
I love that photo, our town gets all gussied up too, but we had this huge windstorm last week that ruined lot of trees, so hopefully this week it will be all pretty, so I can get out and get some photos like yours! i love that its b&w! Lets see.. I did my heart and my name wasn't on there, nor was the word work! hmmm....
Looks like little stars have attached themselves to the garland. A great image Lisa. Thank you for hosting the always wonderful Creative Exchange!
Oh ... meant to add my name as an entry to this great giveaway!
Homemade cookies are such a perfect gift that everyone loves! I can see how that would be a favorite tradition for you! Great holiday photo. ~Val
How interesting your photo turned out!
somehow I knew that would be your question about the heart. I thought it myself and came up with this answer: I love myself in each and every person in my heart.
about the Kat Sloma ecourse, I've already registered, so I'll be doing it anyway thank you. it's a great xmas gift :)
ho!ho!ho!

Good Morning Lisa,
Very striking photo this week! The B&W sets off the subject perfectly and I do love B&W!
What a wonderful cookie tradition you have. I'm sure all the recipients feel that way, too. When our daughter was little, she and I use to make lots of Xmas cookies together. Those were fun times. We're going to make some fancy cookies as soon as she gets home from college - next week:)
Please put my name in for Kat's give away. That would be a treat!
Good luck with the final exam work. Wishing you a happy week,
xo~ Anna
What a wonderful thing to do, baking cookies for others. I would say without really knowing you that this fits with the generous person you are.
I love the b&w edit of the Christmas photo. I tried that myself this week and liked the outcome.
HOpe you have a great week!!
I love the glow of the lights in this black and white shot!
What a beautiful light.
Hi Lisa, As I write this I am running back and forth to the oven taking cookies from the oven, LoL. I would love to have my name added to the giveaway. Your photo is stunning, love the composition. Take care and have a great week;)
Yes, I would love one of the spots, but I also want to say - HOLY COW - what an amazing feat you take on baking cookies the entire holiday season. What a truly selfless act, shows there really is still homemade Christmas spirit in the world. Happy Baking.
my oh my oh pie! oh...I mean cookies! that's a lot of cookies. I have yet to begin my baking, but I don't do that much and can finish it all in a weekend. I'm feeling a lot of photo-love this morning - your sparkling wreath is smashing!!! It's straight out of It's a Wonderful Life and I just watched that movie again the other evening. thanks for hosting TCE every week Lisa. Happy day to you.
I'm a big fan of Kat and her informative and illustrative tutorials - would LOVE to win her class! What a great Christmas treat that would be.
I'll be back with my Creative Exchange entry.....
Another lovely Monday Lisa, filled with lots of wonderful things at the Creative Exchange. I can't wait to see who wins the spaces! I just know the course will be perfect, for whoever it is... :)
This is wonderful, Lisa! I'm sorry, I'm so late for everything - will have to catch up on the heart diagram and your photography blog! I have not even started with the cookies - sigh! But I do love that tradition, too!
Have a wonderful time, Lisa!
My best regards from Romania!
A wonderful week, Lisa!
Lisa, I wish I could see these cookies. I am sure they are delicious. I never could bake tasty cookies. I always screw the whole process of baking.
And the next two weeks will be very difficult for you. I wish you a good luck with this time. I wish that writing papers and final exams would go smoothly and pleasantly.
This picture in B&W colors is beautiful, Lisa. I love so much this wonderful decoration in the air. I love how it spreads the light. Very nice light.
I love also colors and how you played with them. I discovered today something new that gray palette of colors might be amazing. Great photo work, Lisa!!!
I wish you a wonderful time, happy and creative!!!
Lisa, that's so sweet of you to give away all those cookies, not to mention all you do for us. Hope you have a great week. And, if you'd put my name in the Kat pool, I really appreciate it.
Beautiful photo. Have a great week to you.
Greetings from Hilda
Hi Lisa, I am not much of a baker, but I love eating holiday cookies. I would love a chance at the giveaway. Good luck getting through those exams! A month off will be devine.
I would love to win a spot with KaT. I'm late to this party, but would enjoy participating. Guess I need to backtrack and see what it's all about.
Please put my name in the hat for the photography course. Thanks. V
I would love the chance to win one of the spots. Thanks for a great giveaway. amykiane[at]gmail[dot]com
Your's is a lovely link party, got to see so many great blogs through this. I've joined in with my first link-up to The Creative Exchange with a collage from an Indian bazaar (market).
Enjoy the Christmas season!
That is such a profound thought that you shared Lisa. I will think about it.
Hope you have a great week! :)
Lisa, you are such a gem! I love coming here and learning what you have to offer from beautiful images, to grand ideas, and special offers. Please count me in for one of the spots in Kat's Find Your Eye course.
Thanks so much.

Hi Lisa,
Would you please enter my name in Kat's giveaway. Thank you so much!
mmm..cookies. I love having Christmas cookies in the freezer, especially when I sit down for a cup of tea and think about grabbing one out of the freezer to go with my tea!
I look forward to spending more time checking out your blog. I see " The Creative Exchange" mentioned in so many of the blogs I visit.
Have a lovely week.
Phyllis

Coming late, but when you see my post you'll know why - It's date specific! : )
Oh and I forgot - I would love to have a seat in Kat's class!!
I just arrived here. I will read your saying later.
I love the idea of Christmas scenes in B@W. Thanks for putting the idea into my head! Yours is, of course, beautiful.
Thank you so very much, Lisa... I would absolutely be thrilled to have my name put into the drawing for Kat's class. You have such beautiful photography; it is an inspiration. Karen
I would love to take Kat's class. Sounds wonderful! So toss my name in the hat and thank you very much! How do you do what you do, between working, blogging, photography and baking cookies??
Cookies are a wonderful treat and, like you, I'm making shortbread for the humans and biscuits for the dogs - both mine and their friends.
I'd love to win a spot in Kat's class. Last month I went from wife to widow and, God willing, a spot in her class would take my mind off things, if only for a time.
Merry Christmas to you and yours; God's blessings upon the work of your hands and heart.
Sandra at Thistle Cove Farm
I would love a chance to take Kat's class.
I love the softness of your photo and the essence of the holiday captured. Thank you for sharing!
I can remember years that we baked and baked for weeks so my girls could take plates of cookies to share at school. Each of them would leave the house with bags of bundled cookies. We would have so much fun putting the plates together, making sure no one person got two of the same cookie :)
